DOHA, QATAR

MSHEIREB HEART OF DOHa

phase iv.

PROJECT DESIGNER |

2011 | HOK

Msheireb Heart of Dohaland is the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project, that will revive the old commercial district with a new architectural language that is modern, yet inspired by traditional Qatari heritage and architecture – its proportion, simplicity, space, light, layering, ornament and response to climate.

The fourth phase of the project  contains 12 buildings out of about 100 total buildings designed by internationally reknowned architectural firms. The program consists of a collection of creative office buildings, medical office buildings, luxury hotel, serviced and conventional apartment buildings, mail delivery facilities, below grade parking levels and a vibrant active and amenitized retail corridor (The Wadi). The retail Wadi remains a sustainable "connective tissue" that links most programmatic components of this phase to earlier phases of the development.
