Mide Akinsade is an award-winning architect and design leader with more than three decades of experience shaping projects across the globe. His multidisciplinary background spans master planning, urban design, architecture, interiors, furniture, and digital experience design—each unified by a belief that design can inspire, connect, and transform communities.

Before founding atelierMIDE, Mide held senior leadership roles with renowned international firms including CallisonRTKL (Arcadis), HOK, and Gensler, and most recently served as Design Director at Perkins&Will in Houston, Texas. His work is distinguished by its synthesis of cultural insight, design rigor, and human-centered innovation.

A registered architect in the State of Maryland and a Chartered Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Mide is also a LEED Accredited Professional. He serves as a Lecturer at the University of Maryland School of Architecture and has been an invited studio critic at Catholic University of America, Howard University, Morgan State University, Rice University, Prairie View A&M University, and Texas A&M University.

Mide’s professional service extends beyond practice and education. He previously served on the AIA|DC Board of Directors and is the Co-Founder and Board Co-Chair of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Texas Chapter, where he continues to advocate for design excellence, vertical urbanism, and sustainable cities
